About me

I am a fully qualified and dedicated Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor and a registered member of the BACP, (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists). All BACP registered counsellors have been trained to certain standards, have up to date DBS, maintain the standards of the Ethical Framework, undertake at least 30 hours of training per year and have monthly supervision. It is really important to me that I work ethically and in accordance with the BACP’s Ethical Framework.

My background is in education. I have over twenty-five years of experience working in secondary education as an English Teacher, Head of English, National Strategy English Consultant, Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher. Initially, I went into teaching because I wanted to be an Educational Psychologist. Before you could access the post-graduate Educational Psychologist course, at least three years’ teaching experience was required.
I loved teaching, so much I stayed in the profession for over two decades.

Dealing with personal losses led me to counselling. I experienced first-hand how healing and transformative it could be to have counselling.

Counselling is a beneficial way for people to commit time and attention to themselves, to talk openly and feel truly heard, to gain greater understanding of themselves, their world and their relationships, and to invest in their personal growth.

My integrative approach can support you as you analyse the past and how it plays out in the present, giving you clarity about your choices, patterns of thought and ways of relating to yourself and others.

There are no guarantees with counselling, but people usually find that they take benefits from it.
