You must be considering some support while you deal with whatever difficult
feelings, relationships, anxiety, mental health issues or life events that brought you to
this site. I understand. These are brave steps to take.
As an Accredited Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor I offer the following types of therapy, or the best combination of them to suit the client's unique needs.
Face to face
Walk and talk

Online
Walk and talk sessions can begin and end at the counselling room, along our stunning local coastal paths, riversides and parks.
Sessions last 50 minutes.
The duration of your counselling depends on your unique needs and the pace that's right for you. It could take weeks, months or years. It depends on what's right for you.
We will discuss this at regular reviews. It is best initially to have sessions on a weekly or fortnightly basis for consistency and to develop the therapeutic relationship.

Plus the myriad of life’s challenges which can leave us in need of support.
If you are considering counselling but feel unsure, an exploratory call is a good way to start. It’s free and lasts no more than 20 minutes. It helps us get a sense of each other and whether I am a good fit for you, and your counselling needs. By the end of the call if you are happy to go ahead I will take some details, we will arrange your first appointment and I will send you a working agreement. Equally, you might want to go away and think about it, or decide I’m not for you.
I speak to every prospective client on the telephone ahead of our first session regardless.
There are many therapeutic approaches, but fundamentally, it is the relationship between client and therapist which will underpin successful therapy. This unique professional relationship allows you to feel you can work safely, at your own pace and in appropriate depth. It is unlike other relationships we experience, it has boundaries and is based on respect for the individual, confidentiality, trust, absolute focus on the client, empathy, integrity, ethics and non- judgement.
You need to be comfortable to speak about intimate personal issues you might not have talked about before. The counselling relationship between client and therapist is an alliance. I am the trained counsellor, you are the expert in yourself and your experiences. I’ll be alongside you as you make the changes you want in your life.
For me, being able to work with clients in this way is a privilege.
